Cartel Damages Claims

The German Regional Court Düsseldorf has ruled on the 21/02/07 that the follow-on action for cartel damages filed by the Belgian company "Cartel Damages Claims" (CDC) is admissible. CDC is seeking damages of 114M Eur. on behalf of the victims of the German Cement Cartel. The Court has ruled that the action of CDC is admissible, as CDC has acquired the damages rights of the cartel victims. If CDC succeeds, a new legal industry might appear based on the profitability of bringing follow-on actions.
